This piece is based on a photograph I took during a quiet family trip to Loch Voil in the Scottish Highlands – a place of stillness, reflection, and steep hills mirrored in dark water. What I didn’t realise at the time was that I had captured almost the exact same view my Nana Kay – my mum’s mum – painted years ago before her passing. Discovering that connection became one of the early sparks behind my exploration of memory, place, and how landscapes hold stories across generations.
